5280. The greatest city in America sits a mile high. Where the amber waves of grain rise up to purple mountain majesty. I live at the base of the continental divide. The mountains anchor my being. The plains feed my soul. I am a child of the west. A thousand stars play over my town. A million play over the forests that rise above it. The moon always shines in a star spangled sky. To be close to the stars is to be close to infinity.
Painted for the EBSQ 'Ripped Off for Charity' Show. Thanks to Maria Louise High for the inspiration for this piece. Proceeds from this piece were donated to the Whittier Neighborhood Association. |
